It all began in 1924 when Illinois Route 24 went from a dusty gravel road to a concrete "hard" road.

John Bess delivered gravel to where the concrete was mixed and poured.  His equipment was a wagon, a team of mules, a shovel, and a strong back.  He both loaded and unloaded the gravel by hand.

His son Ernest and grandson Willard were central Illinois' largest coal dealer and grain haulers from the mid-1930s until the late 1940s.

Willard owned and operated fertilizer trucks from the late 1940s until the mid-1950s.

Willard's son Roger founded Roger Bess Trucking Inc in 1997 and founded SBG Logistics 13 years later.  He is the President and CEO respectively of those organizations today.

Today, RBTI and SBG have a staff of drivers, dispatchers, sales people, and office workers that work with customers all across the United States.

No matter how large we’ve grown, however, personalized and friendly service is still very important to us. We recognize your voice on the phone. We remember details and are committed to follow through.  We want to ease transportation concerns from that first call until the job is completed to your satisfaction.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—   Ephesians 2:8
